OUR TEAM
Cristina Kinz (she/her) is an experienced educator in the fields of multilingual and bilingual education. Currently serving as a bilingual district coordinator at Denver Public Schools and co-owner of Finch Educational Consulting, Cristina has extensive experience in supporting the development and implementation of various language acquisition models that serve secondary multilingual learners including Transitional Native Language Instruction (TNLI), English Language Development (ELD), and Newcomer Programming and Instruction. Notably, Cristina developed a comprehensive pathway for newcomer students at risk of aging out of high school, ensuring they have a clear route to graduation. Additionally, she has played a vital role in district-wide curriculum development, co-writing the current ELD curriculum utilized by over 10,000 secondary students across the district.
Cristina’s time in the classroom as a bilingual educator drives her commitment to empower schools to implement best practices for MLLs through meaningful and impactful coaching and professional learning tailored to their specific contexts and needs.

Shannon Reed Wilson, she/her
Shannon Reed Wilson (she/her) is an experienced teacher and leader in the field of multilingual education. Currently, Shannon is an Instructional Coordinator in Denver Public Schools’ Multilingual Education Department and co-owner of Finch Educational Consulting, LLC. As an Instructional Coordinator, Shannon manages Alternative English Language Development (ELD) programs, manages teacher leaders, and supports integrated content and language development across departments at the district level and directly with schools and teachers. Shannon also creates and facilitates high-quality professional learning to support instruction and programming for multilingual students across school-settings and content areas. As a teacher, Shannon has taught internationally and in Colorado and has worked primarily as a middle school ELD teacher, working with students of varying English language proficiency levels. She also has experience teaching at the high-school level and as a co-teacher. Shannon has extensive leadership experience serving as both a member and head of an Instructional Service Advisory, as an instructional coach and evaluator for ELD Teachers, world language teachers, and novice teachers.
Shannon believes deeply in the power of education and its responsibility to provide equitable, transformative spaces where students are held to high expectations and supported to thrive both within and outside classroom walls.
